Hoist your sails and brace yourselves for the musical high seas! This Pajama Concert features music for two violins based on famous literary seafaring adventures (Gulliver’s Travels, The Tempest, The Odyssey), paired with a reading of Chris Van Allsburg’s fantastical tale The Wreck of the Zephyr. Music of Telemann, Purcell and Morley.
It's time for a wild rumpus! Join in a game of charades featuring quirky 17th century music mimicking members of the animal kingdom. Sandra Boynton's counting book Hippos Go Berserk! and Maurice Sednak's classic Where the Wild Things Are will leave you hungry for the rest of your dinner…or just a snack, perhaps? Baroque violin, cello and theorbo perform music by Biber, Castello and Uccellini.
fur & friends
Get to know author/illustrator Gabrielle Vincent’s beloved bear-mouse duo Ernest & Celestine in this cozy concert. Stories about friendship, music and museums are told through a curated program of French baroque music performed on traverso (baroque flute), violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord.
Pajama Concerts share live chamber music and classic children’s literature in a relaxed and inclusive setting. Blankets, pillows, and favorite stuffed animals are welcome, and a bedtime snack follows!
