Studio Teaching
Emily’s extensive teaching background includes violin and viola private lessons and group classes, coaching chamber music and orchestral sectionals. She loves working with ages 3 to university music majors, to brand new older beginners. Emily’s primary goals are to help each student develop a practice habit, healthy playing technique and solid musical foundation, to facilitate the student’s own creative expression.
As a teacher, one must always be learning! Emily’s teaching is influenced by the Suzuki Method (training for Books 1-4 with the SAA), the work of Paul Rolland, and many others including her own students and past teachers. Three that have been especially influential are Brigitte Brodwin, Jim Lyon, and Lin He.
